Tel Aviv, Israel, May 5, 2019, Ramot at Tel Aviv University Ltd announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Keren Primor Cohen as Ramot’s new CEO, to be effective from June 2nd, 2019. Keren previously held the position of VP General Counsel and Business Affairs at Ramot.Keren’s appointment is a clear reflection of Ramot’s culture of empowering leadership and nurturing innovation. “During this time of transformation, there is no better person to lead Ramot than Keren Primor Cohen,” said Dr. Shlomo Markel, Ramot’s chairman of the Board of Directors. “Keren is a proven leader with hard-core technology transfer skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. Her vision for how technology and research can be translated from academy into real industrial products is exactly what Ramot needs as the company enters its next chapter of innovation and growth.”

Working at Ramot since 2007, Keren has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex licensing, research, development and technology transfer arrangements, research collaboration agreements and other commercial transactions with a focus on intellectual property. Keren was part of the establishment of the Momentum Fund – Ramot’s attraction to MNCs and VCs to invest in academic translational research, as well as TAU Ventures – TAU’s arm for investing in early stage, cutting-edge, technologies and innovation distribution.

She holds a B.A. in Economics and LL.B. and LL.M. degrees, all from Tel Aviv University, and has been a member of the Israeli Bar Association since 2000. Prior to joining Ramot, she served as legal counsel at Yeda Research and Development Co. Ltd., the technology-transfer office of the Weizmann Institute of Science, and at RiT Technologies Ltd., a publicly traded Israeli company.

Shlomo Nimrodi, former CEO of Ramot, is leaving Ramot after seven years in which Ramot has shown growth in transferring of technologies to Multi-Nationals companies and establishment of Israeli startup companies.
