Prof. Furst-Yust Miriam
Prof. Miriam Furst-Yust is a Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Engineering at Tel Aviv University. She completed her PhD at Tel Aviv University in 1980 with a dissertation on “Characterization of differences in cochlear nonlinear behaviour found in humans and laboratory animals.” Prof. Furst-Yust has been a leading researcher in auditory signal processing and biomedical engineering for over four decades.
Prof. Furst-Yust’s research interests encompass auditory signal processing, modeling of healthy and damaged cochlea, binaural perception through psychoacoustical and physiological measurements, modeling binaural processes, design of active noise control systems, and analysis of medical images. Her work has contributed significantly to understanding cochlear function and developing algorithms for noisy speech signal reconstruction.
