Prof. Schonberg Tom
Prof. Tom Schonberg is a Professor at the School of Neurobiology, Biochemistry and Biophysics and the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, where he leads the Schonberg Lab. He completed his PhD in Psychobiology at Tel Aviv University, focusing on reinforcement learning and neuroimaging, and held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Texas at Austin, investigating the neural bases of decision making and behavioral change.
Prof. Schonberg’s research centers on the neural basis of value-based decision making and mechanisms of behavioral change in humans. His lab explores how the brain constructs, represents, and perturbs value, using interdisciplinary methodologies such as structural and functional MRI, eye tracking, virtual reality, and computational modeling. The research aims to uncover the neural plasticity underlying behavioral adaptation, and emphasizes open, transparent, and reproducible scientific practices, including pre-registration and code/data sharing for all studies.
