Dr. Sintov Avishai

Dr. Avishai Sintov is a senior lecturer and head of the Robotics Laboratory at Tel Aviv University’s School of Mechanical Engineering, where he leads research in robotic manipulation, motion planning, and machine learning for autonomous systems. His work focuses on dual-arm and underactuated robotic systems, dynamic manipulation, and the development of algorithms that allow robots to interact intelligently with complex environments.

Dr. Sintov has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Rutgers University. His publications include contributions to major robotics conferences such as ICRA and ICAPS, and his lab has produced award-winning research in multi-robot motion planning and skill-centric frameworks for long-horizon manipulation. Dr. Sintov’s leadership in the ROB-TAU Lab has helped position Tel Aviv University at the forefront of robotics innovation in Israel and internationally.
