Prof. Yamin Dan
Prof. Dan Yamin is a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tel Aviv University, where he directs the Laboratory for Digital Epidemiology and Health Analytics (DEHA). He completed his PhD at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, followed by postdoctoral research at Yale University’s School of Public Health in the Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases.
Prof. Yamin’s research objective is to design and apply theoretical and practical models to explore epidemic phenomena. His primary focus is on infectious disease modeling, where he seeks to inform and provide tools for public health decision-makers using complex system models and data-driven approaches. His work addresses early detection and improved diagnoses using personalized medicine, optimization, cost-effectiveness evaluation of new technologies, and approaches for testing intervention programs. He has been awarded prestigious grants including the European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant and has advised Israeli health authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
