Prof. Abelson Avigdor
Prof. Abelson Avigdor is a marine ecologist, dedicated to the promotion of marine conservation and restoration, through research and planning, and working as a consultant for governmental and non-governmental organizations worldwide (pro bono). His major concern is how to halt the rapid degradation of marine ecosystems and their essential services to humans. Likewise, working on solutions for sustainable exploitation of the sea as a source of food and as an alternative livelihood basis for fishermen and other ocean stakeholders, via environmentally sound aquaculture and responsible tourism (“eco-tourism”).
