Research areas

At the Eye Research Unit (ERU) at TASMC I am leading the research team involved in the development of, as well as in conducting studies of new techniques and devices for vitreo-retinal surgery. I am primarily interested in investigating new lines of treatment of retinal pathologies.

• Mesenchymal stem cell differentiation into retinal and sub retinal components and implantations such cells into retinal tissue.

• Development of retinal chip implant.

• Small interfering RNA (siRNA) in patients with DME
