Prof. Ashery Uri
Research topic: Elucidating the molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission and plasticity under normal conditions, during neurodegenerative diseases and in aging.
Research methods: Electrophysiology, Slice recording, Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence (TIRF), stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM), Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET), Molecular biology, Model simulation, Multi electrode array recording, Immunohistochemistry, Behavioral tests.
Main projects in the lab include:Creating Blueprints of synaptic plasticity: monitoring nanoscopic rearrangements of synaptic proteins during and following synaptic plasticity
The involvement of synaptic proteins in synaptic transmission and plasticity and in neuronal network activity
Elucidating the changes and the roles of synaptic proteins in neurodegenerative diseases
