Prof. Chaushu is Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Rabin Medical
Center, Beilinson Campus, Petah Tikva, Israel. He attended the Hebrew University at Jerusalem.
He completed his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Chaim Sheba
Medical Center, Israel. Head of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery unit at the Tel Aviv Medical
Center 2002-2006. Head of Oral Health and Dental Implantology Center at the Assaf Harofeh
Medical Center 2008-2011.
He is a member of the Israeli Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and also the former
president of the Israeli Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Prof. Chaushu has
published over 150 articles in English, and has extensive experience in dental implant surgery.
He teaches dental implantology courses at both basic and advanced levels, and has lectured
extensively on dental implantology nationally and internationally.
Research areas: dental implantology, sinus augmentation, immediate implant placement,
immediate loading of implants, ridge augmentation procedures and postoperative morbidity.
Additional field of research – surgical orthodontic teamwork, emphasizing the use of mechanical
retention and osseointegration for orthodontic anchorage.
