Prof. Neuman Eran
Prof. Eran Neuman is Dean of the Yolanda and David Katz Faculty of the Arts at Tel Aviv University and Associate Professor at the David Azrieli School of Architecture. He obtained his PhD and MA in Architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his BA in Architecture from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. He has held fellowships at prestigious institutions including the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and has received honors from the German-Israel Foundation and the Society of Architectural Historians.
Prof. Neuman’s research focuses on the history of Israeli architecture before and after the establishment of the State of Israel, architecture and commemoration, and the influence of technology on architectural design. He is the founding director of the Azrieli Architectural Archive at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art and co-founder of the international research collaborative Open-Source Architecture. His work examines architectural representations of historical trauma, performative aspects of digital architecture, and the evolution of modernist architecture in Israel. His research also explores how digital technologies transform architectural design and culture, and the ways computation, networks, and data reshape architectural form, performance, and the experience of cities within contemporary digital culture.
