Prof. Marom Gil
Prof. Gil Marom is a faculty member at the School of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Ph.D. at Tel Aviv University and pursued postdoctoral research in computational biomechanics.
His research centers on the numerical investigation of mitral valve surgeries, studying the function of the failing heart, and the mechanics of blood circulation in the placenta.
Prof. Marom develops and utilizes advanced computational models including fluid–structure interaction (FSI), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and finite element methods (FEM) to understand cardiovascular disease mechanisms and to contribute solutions that inform medical device design and intervention strategies. His work has been published in leading journals such as The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing.
