Prof. Kiryati Nahum

Computer vision, image analysis, range imaging, 3-D shape analysis, global optimization.

Prof. Nahum Kiryati is a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, where he founded the Vision and Image Analysis (VIA) laboratory. He obtained his BSc degree in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) from Tel Aviv University in 1980, followed by MSc and DSc degrees from the Technion in 1988 and 1991 respectively. He was a visiting assistant professor at ETH Zurich and served as a faculty member at the Technion before joining Tel Aviv University in 1998.

Prof. Kiryati’s research encompasses image processing, computer vision, video analysis, medical imaging, and related fields. He has authored numerous articles and supervised many graduate students, with several former students now serving as faculty members at leading universities. Beyond engineering, Prof. Kiryati holds academic degrees in Humanities and Law, with interests in innovation funding models and the interplay between law and technology.
