Prof. Bendory Tamir

Prof. Tamir Bendory is an Associate Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University. He completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the Technion with a thesis focused on super-resolution of signals using convex optimization, and postdoctoral research at the Technion and later at Princeton University in the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics (PACM).

Prof. Bendory’s current research interests center on mathematical signal processing, computational methods for data science, and the development of advanced algorithms for structural biology. A significant portion of his work is dedicated to computational imaging, particularly single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), phase retrieval, super-resolution, and related statistical problems in signal processing. His research combines theoretical insights with practical applications, including object detection, image processing, and structural determination in biology.
