In the Photonic Enhancement Lab, the main research evolves around light amplification using tiny optical resonators manufactured on a silicon chip (picture below), floating in the air, or made of unconventional materials such as plasma or water, and their use for precise measurements or demonstration of new phenomena. We do applied research in collaboration with the gyroscope industry in Israel as well as basic science research such as gravity or the interaction between light and matter.
