Igal brings forward extensive managerial experience in business and technology development with a wide variety of companies, startups, multinationals and academic technology transfer. He has a successful track record in commercializing early-stage technologies, a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, venture creation and fundraising from VCs and governmental funding, and a broad technological experience in various fields.

Before joining Ramot, Igal served as the CEO of Carmel Ltd., the commercialization company and business arm of the University of Haifa. Prior to that, he served as VP Business Development Exact Sciences at Yeda Research and Development Company Ltd., the innovation and commercialization company of the Weizmann Institute of Science. Previously he was Global Marketing Director of new segments at Lumenis (the largest energy-based medical device company in the world at that time), and before that he was a Co-founder and CEO of two medical device startup companies.

Igal holds a Ph.D. in physics from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
