Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. It has variety of applications in the fields of food, cosmetics, and pharma. However, the challenges associated to the production of recombinant collagen dictate the use of collagen from animal tissues.
Our invention boosts the production of collagen in mammalian cells, making the use of a natural collagen source feasible.
Enhanced collagen expression in fibroblasts cells
Following treatment, fibroblast cells expressing >10-fold collagen.
Collagen levels were evaluated with green, fluorescent antibody against collagen I.
