From Food to Medicine – Green and Safe Solution for Infection and Spoilage Based on the Natural S100 Proteins
We are leveraging the natural S100 proteins as a green, broad-spectrum antimicrobial platform. These can be efficiently recombinantly produced via fermentation and exhibit potent antibacterial and antifungal activity while also modulating inflammation. These proteins can be formulated as coatings or additives to prevent microbial infections and spoilage in medical, dental, and food applications.
This technology offers a safe, sustainable alternative to conventional chemical preservatives and antimicrobials.

> Durable local delivery: There is a shortage of long acting coatings/gels/injectables that provide sustained antimicrobial and anti inflammatory activity on devices, gums, or mucosa.
> Recurrent mucosal infections: Vaginal and cutaneous fungal infections frequently recur due to biofilm reservoirs and azole resistance; Alternatives are limited.

> Clean label food preservation: Consumer and regulatory pressure is shifting away from synthetic preservatives; industry needs natural, “green” antimicrobials that control molds/yeasts/bacteria without altering taste/texture.
> Scalable, consistent manufacturing: Markets require fermentation based, GMP ready biologics with reliable cost and yield.
OUR SOLUTION
We propose using the S100 proteins as natural antimicrobial agents. These proteins efficiently protects from a broad range of pathogens, addressing a key factor in persistent infections.
The proteins are biocompatible and cause minimal inflammatory reaction – in fact, psoriasin is naturally expressed in skin and mucosa as part of our immune defense.
We produce these proteins recombinantly (e.g. in fermentation systems), allowing scalable manufacturing of purified proteins.
